  1. We need more true leaders that will lead in the county.
  2. We need more local government jobs and services that are focused on improvement of the quality of life for Fayette County.

Community Meetings Project Ideas:

  1. We need Code Enforcement.  Used to make our communities safe, clean, etc. (Brownsville)
  2. Police enforcement needs improved in the Brownsville area.
  3. Create strict policies or  policies to improve the community appearance. (Brownsville)
  4. It is time to add Solar and Wind Energy.  Our abandoned mine lands are prime locations for solar and wind power forms. It would bring notoriety to Fayette County.
  5. The opportunity for the Municipality to do their own zoning. (Bullskin)
  6. We need more say in the Township – Home Rule and Funding for it. (Bullskin)
  7. Next census put whole Township in on Legislative District (it is split) Bullskin
  8. Increase community accountability/transparency. (Bullskin)
  9. Add services – Quality Social Services. (Bullskin)
  10. Embracing the concept of “professional inclusion” in local government.
  11. We need to have collaboration within the Township. (S. Connellsville)
  12. We need to maintain the community fire department, police department and governing body here in South Connellsville.
  13. We need to work together to get things done. (Connellsville)

  15. Eliminate paid fire department, increase money for volunteers with savings. (Connellsville)

  19. Create a Yough Activities Committee of the village. (Dunbar)
  20. Create and implement a Youth Governance Project so that they learn what it means to govern a community. (Dunbar)
  21. Could the county help out small towns with their dilapidated buildings, old storm/drain pipes?  Would like the county officials and council to come together to our town to see what need done and then cooperate with each other. (Dunbar)

  28. We are lacking police service and it take the State Police an hour to respond to the mountain areas requests and needs. (Farmington)
  29. Government working together for the betterment of the community as a whole and not just the infrastructure. (Masontown)
  30. We need proactive leadership in our community of Masontown.
  31. Help our community to continue to develop and follow through with strategic plan for Masontown.
  32. Better communication with the residents outside of election season to help in proper development. (Masontown) 
  33. Keep the pressure on Council to keep dilapitated building to a minimum. (Masontown)
  34. Council meetings open and not always in “Executive Session”. (Masontown)
  35. Matters involving commuity changes should be made public to residents are aware and can give their input . Ex.. Library and Boro Building moving to Gabler’s building in Masontown.
  36. The natural gas should be taxed especially with the concerns that their equipment hurts our roads and our environment. (Menallen)
  37. We need to look at funding our technical schools to be a means of becoming a self-sustaining community.
  38. More LOCAL, less  COUNTY & STATE government. (Normalville/Mill Run)
  39. More of our local tax money staying in Springfield Twp. (Normalville/Mill Run)
  40. We need our own zoning board in Normalville/ Mill Run area.
  41. Develop borough website to inform public of ordinances, Meeting agendas and activities. (Perryopolis)

  44. We need a new borough building in Pt. Marion.
  45. Would like to see funds come into the tri-town area to beautify and attract small businesses into the community. (Vanderbilt)
  46. A better tax base to survive (would trickle down to less crime). (Vanderbilt)
  47. Local tax credits for those who are artists/musicians who perform in Fayette County.  Credit for equipment, lessons, etc. (Uniontown)
  48. Minimal government due to greater working together, sense of self responsibility. (Uniontown)
  49. Working together for the good of GROUP not individual. (Uniontown)
  50. Lower property taxes. (Uniontown)
